Butler, Locke stars among AHL stars

Given a choice, Bobby Butler and Corey Locke would have preferred to be in Colin Greening’s shoes Monday — preparing for an NHL game, rather than performing in the AHL All-Star Game.

Just the same, the two made the best of being among the minor league’s best on Monday.

Butler, who has shown some flash in his eight games with the Senators this season, was named MVP of the AHL All-Star Game in Hershey, Pa., Monday, scoring a goal and three assists in the Eastern Conference’s 11-8 win over the West.

Locke, the former 67′s star who picked up his first career NHL point during his recall to the big leagues last month, registered two assists in the game and is now the all-time leading scorer in AHL All-Star games, with 11 points.
