B-Sens poised to sweep Charlotte

Zack Smith scored three times, pacing the Binghamton Senators to a 7-1 win over the Charlotte Checkers and a commanding 3-0 lead in their American Hockey League Eastern Conference series.

Zack Smith scored three times, pacing the Binghamton Senators to a 7-1 win over the Charlotte Checkers and a commanding 3-0 lead in their American Hockey League Eastern Conference series.

The Senators, the minor-league affiliate of the the Ottawa Senators, can complete a four-game sweep and earn a berth in the finals with a win at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton tonight.

Erik Condra, Bobby Butler, Roman Wick, and Ryan Keller had the other goals for the Senators while Jon Matsumoto scored for Charlotte. Robin Lehner stopped 37 of 38 shots for the Senators.
