Craig Anderson will make his return on Friday night against the Montreal Canadiens, four weeks after a kitchen accident in which he sliced the baby finger on his right hand.

The Ottawa Senators’ No. 1 goalie said Thursday his hand feels fine and there’s nothing he can’t do. His strength has returned and he is now able to handle the puck.

Ben Bishop will be the backup in Montreal with Alex Auld being the odd-man out, but coach Paul MacLean said the team will carry three goalies.

Meanwhile, after missing Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils with the flu, Jason Spezza returned to practice and should play his 600th NHL game in Montreal.

Jesse Winchester, who has been out since December with a concussion, has been cleared to play but probably won’t get in this weekend. He said he’s still not 100 per cent.

I hope Anderson can motivate the Sens. Bishop did great considering the offense has vanished. The Sens need to score to motivate the fans.
