The Ottawa Senators will go with their No. 1 goaltender on opening day after all.
After much speculation that Paul MacLean might go with one of two hot hands available to him — Robin Lehner or Ben Bishop — the Ottawa coach announced Friday that Craig Anderson will get the start Saturday against the Winnipeg Jets.
Lehner, who will likely be on his way back to Binghamton soon thanks to his two-way contract, will serve as the backup.
Joining Bishop in the press box as healthy scratches will be winger Kaspars Daugavins and defenceman Mark Borowiecki.
That means Patrick Wiercioch and Andre Benoit, who have played together all season as the top pair in AHL Binghamton, will make up the third pairing. Here’s how the lines should look on opening night.
