All about Lehner, Leclaire, Kovalev

Check out ottawacitizen.com for talk about a refreshed-looking Milan Michalek, the return of Chris Campoli to the lineup and Nick Foligno’s ever-optimistic approach to life and hockey.

Here’s the skinny on some other odds and ends.

Robin Lehner was shipped back to Binghamton of the AHL Saturday because the Senators want him to see as much game action as possible — here, there and everywhere. The plan calls for Lehner to play for Saturday night against the Manchester Monarchs.

With Pascal Leclaire still sidelined — no real update on his hip/abdominal/groin/lower body injury — either Lehner or Mike Brodeur will be recalled to backup Brian Elliott Sunday against Washington.

Depending on the result Sunday, don’t be surprised to see Lehner play Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks.

As for Alex Kovalev, who has been sidelined with knee complications, coach Cory Clouston was optimistic he could get back on the ice at some point early next week. That probably means Corey Locke will stick around for awhile. Unless, of course, the Senators opt to replace Locke with another forward called up from Binghamton.
