Though it seems Spezza has the overwhelming vote here (fans having short-term memories at the best of times), I chose Yashin for several reasons:

i)40 goal season yet to be eclipsed by Spezza
2)Did more with a lot less. McEachern and Arvedson (?) as wingers compared to Alfredsson in prime and Heatley in prime
    3)Understated, somewhat serious…compared to the giggles…
4)Yashin cried to management about money, Spezza cried to management about being booed.
5)Yashin spent a lot of time living here, Spezza spends a lot of time living in…Toronto.

When I think our future “captain” is going to be living in Toronto four months a year, it makes me physically ill.
