About James Gordon
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Citizen sports editor James Gordon watched the original NHL Jets play their last game on his 15th birthday and returned 15 years later to chronicle one of the reincarnated franchise’s games against the Ottawa Senators. Prior to joining the Citizen’s sports section as a hockey writer and online editor during Senators’ 2007 Stanley Cup final run, he spent several years on Parliament Hill covering national security, terrorism and access to information issues. The Carleton University grad’s journalism career began with a summer job as a business reporter with Dow Jones Newswires in Toronto, but he soon returned to Ottawa to join the Citizen. James was appointed sports editor in March 2012.
